Glynn Hardy  Spillman Sr.

A lifelong resident of Spillman, LA, Glynn died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 87 and was retired from the La. Department of Transportation. Visiting will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 5pm until 8pm and continues on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 9am until service at 10am conducted by Pastor Timmy Straight. Burial will be in The Spillman Cemetery, Spillman. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Burleigh Spillman. Children, Bobbi Spillman, Roxanne Spillman Scherer, Joan Spillman Blackard and husband, Johnny; Julie Spillman Stewart and husband, Marty; Kim Spillman Lofton and husband, Jon; Rhonda Cribbs Mullins and husband, Marty; William Hoyt Cribbs, Jr. and wife, Marie; Carrie Cribbs Schmidt and husband, Augustus; and Donna Cribbs Williams and husband, Don; 29 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by 2 sons, Glynn, Jr. and Reece Spillman, his parents, John Aubrey and Dicy Lillie Spillman, 4 brothers, John, Clarence, Reed and Van Spillman and a sister, Audrey Spillman Richardson.

Glynn enjoyed maintaining his homestead, his stocked pond and gardening. He was the devoted caretaker of The Spillman Cemetery. He attended Healing Place church in St. Francisville. Glynn was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by his large group of family and friends. The family would like to express their appreciation to St. Joseph's Hospice for their genuine care and support they provided.
